On October 15, 2024, the Sports Medicine Clinical and Basic Research Innovation Seminar, jointly organized by the Physical Disability Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the China Association of Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons, the editorial department of the  Orthopedic Journal of China, and the Tai'an 88 Hospital of China Rongtong Medical Group, was successfully held in the form of an online conference. The purpose of this conference is to provide an opportunity for experts, scholars, clinical doctors, and related professionals in the field of orthopedic sports medicine to learn and exchange ideas, and jointly explore the latest research achievements, clinical experiences, and development trends in the field of sports medicine.

Cao Yuejin, Vice Chairman of the CARD, attended the meeting and delivered a passionate speech. He first affirmed the work of the Physical Disability Rehabilitation Professional Committee and the Orthopedic Journal of China, and put forward earnest expectations for how clinical and basic research innovation in sports medicine can promote the development of disabled persons' rehabilitation. Dean Liu Yongqiang of Tai'an 88 Hospital also personally attended the main venue and delivered a speech.
The conference was fortunate to invite six well-known domestic experts to give wonderful presentations on hot topics in clinical and basic research of sports medicine from their respective research fields. Professor Liu Yujie, Chairman of the Arthroscopy Branch of the Military Sports Medicine, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor of the Orthopedics Department of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital, delivered an academic report on "Minimally Invasive Concept, Aesthetic Awareness, Innovative Ideas, and Pioneering Innovation" at the main venue; Professor Zhang Yadong, the leader of the Upper Limb Group of the Sports Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the director of the Orthopedics Department and doctoral supervisor of the Fifth Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, gave an academic report on the past and future of meniscus injury treatment technology; Professor Liu Ning, member of the Standing Committee of the Sports Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Chief Physician of the Sports Medicine Department of Zhengzhou Orthopedic Hospital, and Master's Supervisor, delivered an academic report on "Applied Anatomy and Repair and Reconstruction of the Medial Collateral Ligament after Injury"; Professor Huang Xunwu, Vice Chairman of the Orthopedic Professional Committee of the China Medical Education Association and Chairman of the Joint Surgery Branch, Director of Orthopedics and Master's Supervisor at the Eighth Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital, presented an academic report titled "Differences in Definition and Treatment of Giant and Irrepairable Shoulder Sleeve Injuries".
Professor Huang Changming, Vice Chairman of the Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Branch of the army, Chief Physician and Professor of the 73rd Army Group Hospital and Xiamen University Chenggong Hospital, and Master's Supervisor, delivered an academic report on the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic shoulder joint instability; Professor Sun Lei, Chairman of thePhysical Disability Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the CARD, Chief Physician and Postdoctoral Supervisor of the Orthopedics Department at Tai'an 88 Hospital of China Rongtong Medical, gave an academic report on "Clinical and Related Basic Issues of Anterior Cross Ligament Suture and Reconstruction" at the main venue. The reports of the experts are detailed and insightful, providing a rich professional feast and academic feast for everyone.
Finally, Sun Lei, the editor in chief of Orthopedic Journal of China, made a concluding speech. He expressed sincere gratitude to the leaders, experts, and colleagues for their support of this conference, and stated that he would continue to strengthen the construction of the professional committee and the journal, and make due contributions to promoting the development of disability rehabilitation and sports medicine.
