The Exchange Meeting of the 6^th Professional Committee of Physical Disability Rehabilitation of China Association of Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (CARD) was held on the afternoon of November 30, 2024 at the Beijing National Convention Center. The conference was presided over by Hou Ping, Deputy Secretary General of CARD, Cao Yuejin. Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CARD, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an important speech.

Chairman Cao highly praised the remarkable achievements made by the 5th Professional Committee for Physical Disability Rehabilitation under the leadership of Chairman Professor Sun Lei in party building work, social services, academic exchanges, talent cultivation, and other aspects. He also has high expectations for the next Professional Committee, hoping to continue to carry forward the fine traditions of the Professional Committee and promote the continuous development of physical disability rehabilitation work. Subsequently, Professor Sun Lei, the Chairman of the 5th Physical Disability Rehabilitation Professional Committee, gave a work report on the previous committee. He reviewed the development history of the committee and comprehensively summarized the work done by the previous committee, including strengthening self construction and consolidating the foundation of development; Organize academic seminars, training courses, public lectures and other academic activities, as well as establish specialized training bases to cultivate disabled rehabilitation practitioners and enhance their technical abilities; The influence of the professional committee's journal "Orthopedic Journal of China" has been increasing year by year, and the achievements have been fruitful, making due contributions to the continuous progress of rehabilitation for disabled people in China.

Vice Secretary General Hou Ping read out the approval document for the replacement of the professional committee. Professor Yang Huaqing, member of the Preparatory Committee for the 6th Professional Committee Election, introduced the basic situation of the new committee members. Twelve consultants, including Qin Sihe, et al. were selected in the meeting, all of whom are highly respected orthopedic experts; The honorary chairman is Professor Sun Lei, the previous chairman and renowned orthopedic expert. The new professional committee is composed of 110 members. The chairman is Professor Yang Huaqing from the Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital of Capital Medical University. The Vice Chairman is composed of 9 experts, including Professor Zhang Hongqi from Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. The standing committee and members come from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government. The average age is 42.3 years old. The newly added members account for one-third of the total number of members, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the professional committee. After the election conference, academic exchanges were conducted.
