The Chinese Medical Doctor Association Journal Review Work Conference, hosted by the Newspaper Management Department of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, was successfully held in Shenzhen on December 18, 2024. Comrades in charge of the editorial departments and some editors of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association series of journals attended the meeting, which aimed to strengthen the review of medical journals, enhance the academic quality and influence of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association series of journals, and further promote the prosperity and development of medical academia.

       At the beginning of the meeting, Director Wang De of the Journal Management Department of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association explained the standards and relevant precautions for journal review. Deputy Director Zhao Tianmou led the attendees to deeply study the new regulations and requirements of the Central Propaganda Department on news and publishing. The attendees reviewed the medical journal review work over the past year and felt that both achievements and challenges coexisted. At the same time, they had in-depth exchanges and discussions on how to further improve the review work.

      In order to ensure the comprehensiveness and depth of the review work, the reviewers are divided into political orientation review group, content quality review group, editing and proofreading quality review group, and business cooperation review group. The review content covers political direction and ideology, academic level of the journal, article quality, research ethics, academic misconduct prevention, statistical methods, peer review mechanism, editing and proofreading quality control, and journal business situation. The reviewers conduct comprehensive and refined review and evaluation of the journal to ensure the legality and compliance of its content. The members of each group, relying on their professional advantages, carefully reviewed and evaluated the journal. They not only pointed out the problems and shortcomings of the journal, but also put forward many valuable constructive suggestions to help the journal clarify its direction.

      After strict evaluation and screening, a total of 10 excellent journals and 8 excellent editorial department directors were selected for this conference. With its rich academic content, rigorous academic attitude, and extensive academic influence, our journal has won unanimous praise from experts and has been rated as an excellent journal. At the same time, Sun Lei, the editor in chief/director of the editorial department, was awarded the title of Excellent Editorial Director for his profound medical professional competence and strict requirements and meticulous management of journal quality.

       We will take this conference as an opportunity to forge ahead, continue to deepen the improvement of academic quality, contribute more wisdom and strength to the development of China's orthopedic surgery industry, and create a new brilliant chapter.
