On March 8, 2025, the joint review and academic seminar of the editorial department of Orthopedic Journal of China, jointly organized by Zhengzhou Orthopedic Hospital and the editorial department of Orthopedic Journal of China, was successfully held at Zhengzhou Orthopedic Hospital. Professor Liu Yujie, Vice Chairman of the Sports Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Chairman of the PLA Sports Medicine Professional Committee, Director of the Sports Medicine Department and Doctoral Supervisor at the PLA General Hospital, Professor Zhu Chen from Anhui Provincial Hospital, Professor Zhang Zhongmin from Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University, Professors Gao Yanzheng and Liao Wensheng from Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Professors Liu Hongjian and Wu Xuejian from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Professors Mei Wei, Liu Ning, Wang Aiguo, Wang Qingde, and Wang Shaohua from Zhengzhou Orthopedic Hospital, Professor Sun Lei, Editor in Chief of the Orthopedic Journal of China, and colleagues from the editorial department attended the on-site meeting.

Meeting venue
 
The meeting focused on on-site review and discussion of six manuscripts. Firstly, the author reports the content of the manuscript, followed by two chief experts providing comments, and then Professor Sun Lei, the editor in chief of the journal, analyzes each manuscript one by one. This involves issues such as title expression, multi center research authorship of the manuscript, scientific consistency and statistical analysis of case selection, study design, surgical methods, and data, quality of case images, writing techniques for discussion sections, and methods for expressing conclusions. At the meeting, the author had direct communication and discussion with experts, which not only made the author aware of the problems and shortcomings in their manuscript, but also learned valuable experience and related knowledge from experts in clinical research and paper writing. This is an important help for the growth and progress of young doctors, and has a significant promoting effect on improving the quality of the manuscript.
  
In addition to the review process, the conference also arranged a variety of academic seminar activities. The attending experts gave wonderful academic lectures, covering the latest achievements and developments in sports medicine, spinal surgery, trauma surgery, joint surgery, and other fields. Attendees expressed that this conference is an academic feast for mutual learning and improvement, which not only broadens academic horizons, but also plays an important role in improving research abilities and paper writing skills. In the future, this journal will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with key industry disciplines, jointly cultivate high-quality academic papers, and make greater contributions to the continuous development of China's orthopedic surgery industry.
